Food, travel and lifestyle photographer and videographer / France
Every day is different, which is what I love about my work as a photographer and videographer. I try to spread my shoots across three days each week and always make sure I've got everything I need, including the ingredients and props for food shoots in advance. I finalise a shot list, get the client's approval, and then create a storyboard if it's a video. I make sure my camera and equipment are fully charged before day D. On the day, I prepare the light, create the scene/scenes, and take photos following the shot list. For bigger projects, I work with a stylist so I can focus fully on photography/videography.
Shootings can be quite intense and exhausting so I make sure to keep the post-production on a separate day. I like to take my time when editing, making sure every detail is perfect before delivering to my client.
Paris is truly a captivating city. I have always been drawn to its timeless charm and incredible food, and the magical light here is simply stunning. It was this city that ignited my passion for photography.I still feel a deep admiration for Paris, it never fails to amaze. Every day brings something new, even in the same places. I love the soft morning light and watching the city come alive, and the history, beautiful architecture and artistry are a constant source of inspiration. It's a pure joy to experience and capture the never-ending visual story of Paris.
My very first paid assignment was in France, an assignment I'll always remember with great fondness. An owner of a centuries-old monastery-turned-B&B in Normandy reached out after seeing my style, and asked me to photograph the property for her website and social media platforms. I was in my element as I explored those historic corridors, captured the gentle morning light in each room, and documented the serene gardens.
It was like stepping into another world, doing something I love, and it made me realise that I wanted to do more of this kind of photography. From that moment on, I was inspired to explore and find unique places and angles to convey their character. Today, a part of photographing in my studio I still travel, from time to time, photographing unique and charming boutique hotels and castles, for the owners or interior magazines.
Working under varying conditions is one of the most challenging yet rewarding aspects of my job. Whether it's dealing with unpredictable light, limited shooting time, or unexpected changes in a food setup, every challenge brings a new opportunity to grow and learn. The key is to always be prepared (always bringing backup gear, lighting options, and an organised shot list), but also being flexible enough to adapt when plans change. This approach allows me to transform challenges into opportunities for creative problem-solving.
Practice makes perfect! Even if you only have a smartphone at first, pay close attention to composition, light, and storytelling. Embrace your mistakes and learn from them. Stay curious and keep experimenting.
