Overview

Issue

Paidos School was seeking to change its projector technology in order to implement more innovative teaching methods, greater image quality, and advanced interactivity. The main objective was to provide every student with the opportunity to enjoy learning lessons, thanks to technology.

Solution

While testing demo units and making a comparison, the Innovation Director saw BenQ RM6502K and RM6503 models as well as the IL550 interactive signage as the right solutions to make a technological revolution in learning at Paidos School.

Result

The students are tech-savvy kids whose lives have already been influenced by technology and who are using their own devices even before attending school. Thanks to the technological upgrade, Paidos School is now a pleasing hub where they can learn lessons in a more dynamic way, share educational content, and collaborate with each other.

Technology Uplifts Paidos School

Paidos is a multi-lingual school for three to thirteen-year-old kids where lessons are taught in English, Spanish, and Catalan. Since both the school and the kids are keen on technology, there is even a curriculum for robotics and programming. The school organises tech events and invites tech experts, bloggers, and YouTube content creators, to give the kids the chance to learn from them. The school also has a dedicated ‘Technology Room’ where the children can learn and experience the latest technologies such as 3D printing. With BenQ’s InstaShare 2 software, students can then share from their own Chromebook screens on the interactive displays, making group engagement even easier.

Paidos School Aligns Itself with Modern Expectations

As the students in Paidos School are tech-savvy, the President of the Cooperative running the school wanted to make sure the school could respond to the these expectations. Paidos School is a school like no other from the teacher-student interactions, to the fact that it is a cooperative composed of people, and now in terms of modern equipment too.

“We wanted to change the projector technology for interactive displays both for image quality and interactivity with the students. The most important thing for us was how easy it was to do the screen mirroring from the Chromebook and also the high quality of the speakers.”

Cloud Whiteboard Feature Makes Learning Fun

Once the teachers allocated time to learn how to work with the features, they warmly welcomed the facilitation. The enhancement in learning spaces allows them to teach more smoothly. Plus, students are increasingly productive given the fact that teachers communicate teaching materials in a more efficient way. The students have a seamless and fun learning experience with the cloud whiteboard feature of the BenQ interactive displays. EZWrite, BenQ’s built-in interactive whiteboard software, provides many pedagogical features such as annotation, highlighting, marking, screenshotting, etc.

The cloud technology enables everyone to access the whiteboard from their mobile devices and make changes or share their screens. From the interactive displays or their own devices, teachers can connect to Google Classroom and EZWrite 6 Web to improve the learning process with just a few clicks. They can also share lesson materials, send announcements, and assign homework, all from the whiteboard. With InstaShare 2 software, kids at Paidos School can mirror their Chromebook screens to the interactive displays, right from their seats. And they love doing so!

The Kids’ Health is Taken Care of

Some parents might have been worried at the idea of their children spending a lot of time in front of a screen but the Paidos School took these concerns into consideration and one important factor when choosing BenQ was health. The school educated parents about the risk-free ways of using technology that BenQ offers them. BenQ uses ClassroomCare® technology to take care of the health of the users and reduce digital eye strain. BenQ interactive displays feature SIAA and TÜV-certified germ-resistant screens which are 99.9% effective against the transmission of common germs. Another characteristic of RM03 displays is that they are flicker-free and have low blue light and anti-glare screens which all in all result in exceptional eye care.

Outcome

12 classrooms of the Paidos School are now equipped with BenQ interactive displays and one interactive signage is welcoming people at the entrance of the school. All the features available are making the school even more pleasant for kids, as well as informing the visitors.
