2021 BenQ PhotoVue Competition - Motion in a Still

To celebrate the launch of our newest 4K monitor for photographers and videographers, the SW271C, we are releasing a special challenge: capture motion in a still! Test your creativity and technical skills by entering our competition for the chance to win our latest monitor and cash prizes.

Motion in photography creates a sense of time and makes your photos look more natural and compelling. We want your photos to take us to the scene you captured and immerse us in the moment you immortalised.

Despite the world coming close to a standstill in these difficult times, and with many of us stuck indoors, we can still create original images by observing our surroundings. Motion can happen all around us: clouds moving through the sky, shadows and light moving across the floor, leaves rustling, curtains billowing in the breeze, water droplets on a windowsill, dogs running in the park, hair flying, waves crashing… Movement is everywhere!

First place:

Second place:

Take an interesting “motion in a still” photo
Download the AQCOLOR frame we created for this competition from HERE
Drop your motion photo in the frame
Upload the final image on Instagram and in the description, add the hashtags #benqinmotion, #AQCOLOR and mention @aqcolor_by_benq. Make sure to add your country name in the description too.

About the SW271C monitor

Offering a wide-gamut space of 99% Adobe RGB and 90% DCI-P3/Display-P3, the SW271C is the ideal monitor for creatives who work with both stills and video footage. It also supports HDR 10/HLG to offer you the finest details. The BenQ PhotoVue SW271C monitor also features the latest Paper Color Sync technology that allows you to display and simulate photo printing results.

Selecting a winner

The winners will be determined by our panel of judges:

Antonio Gaudencio – Educator and professional photographer specialising in landscape, architecture and street photography,
based in France and Portugal
Joanna Lemañska – aka misscoolpics, professional lifestyle, travel and street photographer based in Paris
Adrian Weinbrecht – award-winning image-maker based in London and working globally, with over 20 years’ experience in the industry

Your photo must be 1080 x 1080, 1:1 aspect ratio. The deadline for uploading your entry is 30^th of June 2021 and the winners will be announced on or shortly after the 15^th of July 2021 on our Instagram profile. This competition is open to all European residents. We kindly ask everyone wanting to take part in our competition to comply with social distancing guidelines and adhere to local rules and lockdown restrictions. Terms & Conditions

This competition is open to people aged 18 and over who upload their original work to “Instagram”, and complete the following actions –

  I. Take an interesting “motion in a still” photo
  II. Download the frame we created for this competition from our website
  III. Drop their photo in the frame
  IV. Upload the final image on Instagram and in the description, add the hashtags #benqinmotion, #AQCOLOR, add their country name,
and mention @aqcolor_by_benq in the description.
  V. Follow us on Instagram @aqcolor_by_benq
Any entries that are considered dangerous, vulgar, offensive, indecent, illegal, racist, copied, cruel or fraudulent, or infringe on the rights or copyright of others will be immediately disqualified.
The contest is open to European residents only.
Employees or agencies of BenQ or their family members or anyone else connected with the competition judging and winner selection may not enter the competition.
Entrants into the competition shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
Only one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
The closing date of the competition is 30^th of June 2021. Entries uploaded after this time will not be considered.
BenQ Europe B.V. accepts no responsibility for any additional costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize.
The competition will have one first-prize winner, one second-prize winner, one third-prize winner, and twenty honourable mentions. The first-prize winner will receive a BenQ SW271C PhotoVue Monitor and a 1,000 Euro prize money. This prize includes delivery costs. The second-prize winner will receive a BenQ SW271C PhotoVue monitor and a 500 Euro prize money. This prize also includes delivery costs. Third-prize winner will receive a BenQ SW271C PhotoVue monitor. This prize also includes delivery costs. The winners will receive their monetary prize in their local currency at the current exchange rate at the time the prize is awarded. BenQ is also offering a special prize to twenty of the best entries, as determined by the Judges.
The winners will be determined by a team of three Judges. When choosing the winners, the Judges will be looking for the most well-composed, artistic and original image that evokes the best interpretation of the theme “Motion in a still”.
The winners will be notified on Instagram via Direct Message on or shortly after the 15^th of July 2021 and must respond to BenQ Europe B.V. within 3 days of being notified. Failure to do so will result in the winner’s prize being forfeited and BenQ Europe B.V. shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above (and that winner will have to respond to notification of their win within 3 days or else they will also forfeit their prize). If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, the winner’s prize will be forfeited and BenQ Europe B.V. shall be entitled to select another winner.
For the prizes to be validated, all winners will be asked to provide the original photo of their competition entry. Failure to provide this will result in the cancellation of the prize and the selection of a new winner.
The photo must be 1080 x 1080, 1:1 aspect ratio.

The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
BenQ reserves the right, at any point, to cancel the competition. This means no winners will be chosen, and no prizes awarded. If cancellation does occur, competition entrants’ work will remain their own and not be used by BenQ in any circumstances.
If you are one of the winners, BenQ Europe B.V. may request that you participate in publicity or promotion organised by BenQ Europe B.V. including a selection of the winners’ entries, which BenQ Europe B.V. will be granted image rights for publicity purposes.
Copyright is retained by its respective creator; however, no financial compensation will be offered for this.
The Competition will be governed by English law and entrants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
BenQ Europe B.V. accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize.
