EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS, 16 JULY 2026 – BenQ is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Bronze Medal in May 2026 by EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings. With a score of 66/100, this recognition places BenQ among the top 35% of more than 175,000 companies assessed and rated globally by EcoVadis, shining a spotlight on its continuous commitment to sustainability and ESG policy.
EcoVadis is an independent ratings agency that assesses companies on their performance within four core ESG areas – Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement – based on their policies, actions, and results. Its methodology is used by organisations worldwide to benchmark sustainability performance against industry peers.
BenQ’s assessment highlighted particular strength in Labour & Human Rights, placing the performance at the advanced-level threshold, alongside recognised certifications in environmental management (ISO 14001), occupational health and safety (ISO 45001), and information security (ISO 27001). The company was also acknowledged for its endorsement of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and RE100, reflecting its commitments to emissions reduction and renewable energy. These commitments are already producing measurable results. BenQ’s Scope 3 global GHG emissions in 2025 totalled approximately 860,675 metric tons, a reduction of 21.08% against the 2021 baseline. Moreover, in its European business region, renewable energy accounted for 38% of total consumption in 2025.
BenQ operates 28 bases in 26 countries and markets its products in more than 100 countries, a footprint that brings its own complexity to sustainability work, given how much regional variation exists in regulation, supply chain, and labour standards. The EcoVadis rating indicates how that work has translated into practice in the group, under the guiding principle of “Because Earth Matters”, an extension of BenQ’s long-standing brand philosophy “Because it Matters” applied to its responsibility toward the planet.
“Achieving EcoVadis’ Bronze Medal is a solid foundation for us to build our sustainability strategy on. As part of our ESG commitment, we’re working every day to reduce our impact and maximise sustainability efforts in all our operational procedures from manufacturing to distribution,” commented Jay SC Wu, President at BenQ Europe. “This rating indicates that we’ve come one step forward in our sustainability journey and we’re ready to broaden our sustainability scopes with consistency and determination.”
BenQ intends to use this Bronze Medal as the basis for a more ambitious sustainability agenda in the year ahead, particularly in the areas where this assessment has shown the most room to grow.
