Project
The Hilton Hotel Glasgow is an iconic landmark in the city, having been established for over 28 years. It is also home to the busiest ballroom in Scotland which is frequently booked for glamorous award celebrations, as an inspirational conference setting, a pioneering theatre destination and for the swankiest receptions in town.
The venue underwent a refurbishment 10 years ago but this ambitious event team had a vision much greater than a lick of paint and new carpet, they saw the potential to completely transform the space into a digital canvas to allow the creation of truly immersive and unique event experiences.
Solution
The true potential of the 944sqm ballroom has been realised thanks to 19 LU930 BenQ projectors. These are ceiling mounted with the content aligned and perfectly blended so that every inch of wall is illuminated with imagery. This creates a striking first impression as guests enter the space, and with the visuals completely surrounding their peripheral vision once inside, they are immersed into the virtual world.
The vibrancy and quality of the imagery from the LU930 projectors is enhanced through industry-leading BlueCore laser technology, which unleashes the full WUXGA resolution and creates a stratospherically high contrast ratio of 3,000,000 for true deep blacks, vividly rich colours and fine subtle details.
The Precision-Aligned High-Output Laser Source ensures superior brightness while the BlueCore laser diodes boost luminous flux into the light tunnel, improving light efficacy to 5,000 lumens. Our LumiExpertTM technology automatically detects the ambient light conditions of the space and adjusts the projector’s brightness to maximize clarity and comfort.
Performance is further enhanced with the secondary yellow-infused colour wheel, where dual synchronisation utilizes an additive yellow segment, stimulating precise RGBY spectra for optimal chromatic performance.
A 20,000 hour lifetime combined with the reliable laser light source ensures there is no colour degradation between the different projectors over time, making this model ideal for multiple blending projections without concern for adjacent projectors generating different levels of brightness after a period of operation.
The laser light source also means that the projectors start up instantly with no lag time, ensuring a prompt start for events and eager organisers wanting to see their content for the first time.
Management and maintenance are simplified thanks to the IP5X certified dustproof mechanism and LAN control capability, so the projectors can be paired with wireless devices to access the content and manage alignment.
