When my device is connected to the monitor via USB-C™, it shows a charging icon, but the battery doesn’t actually charge. Why is that?

The USB-C™ port on your monitor does not support Power Delivery, but it still supplies 5V to meet the requirements for USB-C DP alt mode transmission. So, when the Power-On Charging function is enabled (as default) or the Standby Charging function is enabled, the connected devices (e.g., laptops, phones) may show a charging icon despite only receiving minimal power. 

You can disable Power-On Charging and Standby Charging.
