BenQ UK finalists for two AV Awards 2021

We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalists for two awards at the AV Awards 2021.
BenQ UK have been shortlisted for Leisure and Hospitality Project of the Year at the AV Awards 2021 for our impressive transformation of the iconic ballroom at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.

The Hilton Hotel Glasgow is an iconic landmark in the city and has been established for over 28 years. It is also home to the busiest ballroom in Scotland which is frequently booked for glamorous award celebrations, as an inspirational conference setting, a pioneering theatre destination and for the swankiest receptions in town.
Hilton’s ambitious events team had a vision to renovate the ballroom and saw the potential with BenQ projectors, to completely transform the space into a digital canvas to allow the creation of a truly immersive and unique event experience.
Using 19 x LU930 Corporate Laser Projectors from BenQ, the team at the Hilton Hotel was able to create a truly immersive and unique experience by transporting guests into a vibrant, virtual wonderland by projecting creative animations onto the walls of its grand ballroom.
The vibrancy and quality of the imagery from the LU930 projectors is enhanced through industry-leading BlueCore laser technology, which unleashes the full WUXGA resolution creating a high contrast ratio of 3,000,000 for true deep blacks and vividly rich colours.
We are also proud to announce that Chris Mellowship, Senior Technical Sales Manager at BenQ UK has been shortlisted for AV Professional of the Year at the AV Awards 2021. Chris has been with us for 5 years and champions our end-users, providing demonstrations, training sessions and technical support.
Chris is a one-man team, and he is outstanding. He is an inspiring, transformational leader but most importantly he is a natural in times of uncertainty. Throughout the specific uncertainty of the COVID19 global pandemic, he was instrumental in singlehandedly transforming BenQ’s end-user training programme to overcome new challenges of not being able to physically visit clients during the last year. Eager to maintain a consistent delivery within the technical sales team, Chris developed the virtual demonstration facility to ensure continuity of service, including launching end-user phone and video support.
Chris’ unique understanding of the industry drives him to develop members of the sales team that are equipped to solve a customer’s challenge and customise a lasting relationship with every user, leading to more returning business.

Since their launch in 1999 by AV Magazine, the AV Awards have been firmly established and being shortlisted or winning is seen as a highly prestigious badge of excellence. Last year the AV Awards took place virtually due to Coronavirus restrictions, but this year will take place on 5th November 2021 at London Evolution and will also be live streamed online.
