BenQ and Persona Education partner to accelerate personal development for pupils across the UK.

BenQ, the leading innovator of visual display solutions has announced a new partnership with Persona Education, which will enable the popular social-emotional learning platform, Persona Life Skills, to now be accessed directly from the BenQ App Store.

The vision is to enhance academic attainment, careers, and life satisfaction through transformative, hybrid learning, making BenQ the first interactive display provider to offer Persona Life Skills in the UK. Through this new partnership, teachers and school leaders across the country can find out about Persona Life Skills with one touch of the interactive display and choose to register for a free trial of the platform with a second touch.

BenQ’s interactive displays installed in UK secondary schools and colleges to enhance learning, combined with Persona Life Skills’ commitment to teenagers’ progression, is set to provide students aged 13-19 with the necessary life skills needed to boost their well-being and employability – something that two-thirds of teachers wanted to see incorporated into the national curriculum according to the July 2022 Pearson School Report. Built around Persona’s personality insights framework, the social-emotional learning platform is rooted in behavioural science and complements existing school RSE, PSHE, life skills, careers, and wellbeing curricula.

Nicola Pearce, Head of Education at BenQ commented:

“We are delighted to have become the first interactive display provider to partner with Persona Life Skills in the UK. At BenQ, we believe it is important that we are encouraging young people to better their personal development skills and in turn, boost their employability - our partnership with Persona Education is an extension of our commitment to transform modern classrooms and make learning more fun and relevant for children in day-to-day life”

Pete Read, CEO and Co-founder of Persona Education commented:

"One of the biggest challenges in education is the effective delivery of social-emotional skills and personal development for young people aged 13 to 19. During these often-difficult years for teenagers, it is a hugely important issue that has a direct impact on their academic attainment, careers, and life satisfaction. Many schools and colleges lack expertise and resources in this area, and this partnership between Persona and BenQ will immediately give them and their students access to a ready-made resource that will help them address the problem."

Research shows that developing social-emotional skills – such as goal setting, active listening, critical thinking, and empathy – can have a significant positive impact on young people’s personal development, in social, learning and work contexts. Likewise, an analysis by Public Health England of 213 UK schools found those with well-developed social-emotional skills programmes had 11% higher exam results.

Following the UK rollout, BenQ and Persona Education will assess both uptake and impact and provide training and support to schools and colleges where needed - to date, over 400 schools in 41 countries have signed up to use the platform. New content is added to Persona Life Skills each year, guiding students on tackling different life challenges, and this will be made available via the BenQ interactive displays as it becomes available.

The partnership is expected to be expanded to help make the platform even more widely available, supporting BenQ’s mission of transforming modern classrooms and enabling hybrid learning.
