In 2014, BenQ's lighting team raised a thought-provoking question: “Reading has shifted from paper to screens—so why hasn’t a lamp evolved with it? ”
At the time, most people assumed screens provided enough light, there was no need to turn on a lamp. But in truth, prolonged monitor use strains the eyes far more than reading paper ever did. When no one else dared to tackle this problem, we decided to be the first. From this belief, WiT was born in 2015—the world’s first lamp specifically for screen reading.
